AUTHENTIC.

The Double Hill Cidery is located in the hills of Caledonia, Prince Edward Island. The Farm was first settled by the MacDonald family and named Double Hill for its ravine that dissects the land into two hills. We are now growing cider apples on both sides of the ravine. In 1993, Double Hill Farm was purchased by the Manago family. Enchanted by the lay of the land, we first started planting apple trees to enhance the old hedgerows. Then, we started planting cider apples.

NATURAL.

Nature dictates how ciders turn out. Just like in wine, the way the apple is grown has an impact on how the cider performs during fermentation, aging and long after it has been bottled. Once the apple is mature and harvested, a large percentage of the quality of cider has been determined. We develop good relationships with our growers to ensure we get the quality apples we need for our ciders.

Slide our values TERROIR Terroir is a French term used to describe the environmental and human factors
that affect a crop and therefore its final product. It is how genetic properties of
the fruit interact with climate, soil and farming practices to give the final
product a unique local character.
Slide our values PATIENCE We believe that good things come when they are done slowly. From pressing,
to fermentation to resting, our ciders take time; usually 6 months between
picking and bottling.
Slide our values COMMUNITY From the owners of the apple trees we pick to the customers who buy our
cider, we are a community who value each others contribution. We believe in
the value of these connections and the spirit of appreciation they create.
